April 29th : A CHOICE OF WEAPONS: INSPIRED BY GORDON PARKS

The 2022 PROXY Spring Series of outdoor cinema concludes on Friday, April 8th at the PROXY Community Walk-in Theater with:

A CHOICE OF WEAPONS: INSPIRED BY GORDON PARKS

Directed by John Maggio, 2021 [not-rated]

“Workmanlike in presentation but scintillating in its content, A Choice of Weapons: Inspired by Gordon Parks is a portrait of an artist whose work was so varied, impactful, and boundary-leaping that it’s hard to imagine anyone like him coming around again.” – Chris Marsanti, Slant

A Choice of Weapons explores the power of images in advancing racial, economic, and social equality as seen through the lens of Gordon Parks, one of America’s most trailblazing artists, and the generation of young photographers, filmmakers, and activists he inspired.

A Choice of Weapons: Inspired by Gordon Parks is a co-production of Kunhardt Films and HBO. Film for this screening provided by Kunhardt Film Foundation.

Presented by HERE FOR NOW, the FREE, Friday evening film screenings begin at dusk with ‘doors’ opening at 6:00 pm. Film begins at sundown around 7:45pm.
